Role Summary

At Side, we work alongside some of the world's leading developers and innovators to create immersive interactive experiences that combine cutting-edge technology with exceptional user engagement.

This project is focused on the development of a next-generation first-person VR flight simulation experience built in Unreal Engine 5 . Combining realistic simulation systems, immersive environments, and intuitive interactions, the project aims to deliver highly authentic aviation experiences that place users at the centre of complex real-world scenarios. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you'll help shape virtual environments, prototype interactions, and refine user experiences that balance realism, usability, and immersion. This is an opportunity to contribute to a sophisticated simulation project that pushes the boundaries of real-time technology and interactive design.

We're seeking experienced Unreal Engine Game Developers to work across gameplay systems, interactions, animations, UI, UMG, and physics, helping bring a cutting-edge VR flight simulation to life while collaborating closely with designers, artists, and fellow engineers.

As these are project-based opportunities, positions may be amended, postponed, or withdrawn as a result of changing client requirements and project priorities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience developing games in Unreal Engine 5, with strong C++ and Blueprint scripting skills and a track record of delivering features across multiple areas of development.
  • Experience implementing gameplay systems, player interactions, and object behaviours, with an understanding of how technical solutions support engaging player experiences.
  • Good knowledge of animation systems, state machines, animation blueprints, and character interactions within Unreal Engine.
  • Experience working with UI systems and Unreal Widgets (UMG), contributing to intuitive and responsive player-facing experiences.
  • Understanding of physics-driven gameplay and simulation principles, with the ability to implement and refine systems that support realistic and engaging interactions.
  • Strong debugging, optimisation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively across gameplay, assets, tools, and technical challenges.
  • Comfortable collaborating within a multidisciplinary team of designers, artists, and engineers to deliver high-quality features and content.

Nice to Have

  • Experience developing VR titles in Unreal Engine.
  • Experience working on first-person experiences, vehicle gameplay, or flight simulation projects.
  • Experience supporting technical design workflows and collaborating closely with Technical Designers.

Benefits

  • Competitive Salary.
  • Dynamic, multicultural and fun environment.
  • You will be working for the world's leading provider of game services.
  • We empower our people and offer regular progression opportunities to ensure our employees flourish.
