Role Summary

The professional will act as a Quality Inspector in the exclusive Legal Entity (PJ) modality, carrying out quality inspections on textile products, clothing, footwear, accessories and HL articles. The main mission is to ensure that the inspected batches comply with customers' technical requirements, applicable standards and SGS's internal procedures, through visual, dimensional and functional inspections, as well as the issuance of accurate technical reports within established deadlines.

  • Carry out quality inspections on textile, footwear and related products, following sampling plans, defect criteria and defined customer standards.
  • Issue detailed, complete inspection reports with photographs, within a maximum period of 24 hours after completion of the inspection.
  • Plan and optimize field routes and itineraries to ensure efficient coverage of suppliers and factories in the region of operation.
  • Immediately report critical deviations, failures or risk situations identified during inspections to supervision.
  • Maintain direct contact with customers and suppliers during the inspection process, representing SGS with professionalism and ethics.
  • Ensure the integrity of measuring and inspection equipment when provided.
  • Participate in training and periodic recalibrations, according to the quality schedule.

Requirements

  • Education: Complete high school (mandatory).
  • Professional experience: Minimum of 1 year as a quality inspector, quality control assistant or related position in the textile, clothing and/or footwear industry.
  • Active license: Category B (preferred), with availability to drive your own vehicle and make daily trips.
  • Technical knowledge: Intermediate knowledge of textile and/or footwear manufacturing (cutting, sewing, finishing, processing and others). Ability to identify and classify common defects (sewing, dyeing, printing, trimming, shrinkage and others). Understanding production flows and manufacturing processes for textile articles and footwear.
  • IT: Basic Office package (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting and communication.
  • Differentiators: Technical course in textiles, fashion, footwear or quality; experience with ABNT NBR, ISO standards; basic English.

Benefits

  • Contracting method: Exclusively as a Legal Entity (PJ). There is no employment relationship in the form of the CLT.
  • Remuneration: Fee per day (HD), amount to be agreed.
  • Location: Field – with daily trips to suppliers, factories and warehouses in the professional’s region of residence. Sporadic travel to other locations may be required.
  • Equipment: The professional must have their own vehicle in good condition, a cell phone with internet access and a camera. SGS will provide, where applicable, specialized equipment.
  • Availability: Times, according to the inspection schedule. Occasionally, inspections may be requested on weekends or holidays, with prior notice and financial compensation.
  • Training: The selected candidate will undergo initial training (in-person or remote) on SGS procedures, reporting systems and customer-specific criteria.
