Role Summary

Are you a legal expert with knowledge of customs legislation and a natural leader? Do you enjoy translating complex laws and regulations into practical solutions for the business? Then this is your opportunity to fulfill a key role within SGS Maco Customs Service.

You ensure compliance with customs legislation, monitor quality and compliance and translate complex legislation and regulations into practical solutions. You manage the Quality & Compliance team of 3 FTE and work together with colleagues, management and SGS Legal Benelux.

You are a truly cooperative foreman or woman: a manager who is close to the team and, when the situation requires it, actively participates in the daily activities.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and translating national and international customs legislation and regulations
• Monitoring compliance, quality and AEO-related standards
• Advising on risks, legislation and strategic issues
• Improving processes, procedures and systems
• Develop and maintain compliance instructions
• Preparing and supervising audits
• Handling claims and legal customs issues

Requirements

• What do you bring to the table as Quality & Compliance Team Leader?
• You are analytically strong, organizationally sensitive and know how to make complex regulations understandable for different target groups. You switch effortlessly between strategic issues and operational activities and feel at home in an international, dynamic environment.

In addition, you have

• HBO or WO education in Law, Logistics, International Trade, Customs Affairs, Customs Compliance or similar
• Knowledge of customs legislation, compliance and import/export processes;
• Experience with trade, logistics or customs processes;

Good command of Dutch, English and German is an advantage.
