Role Summary

You are a natural coach with a solid technical background!

As a Team Leader, you are responsible for the daily management of a team of inspectors and Account Leaders in the “lifting” discipline.

You combine the leadership role with a partial operational function, so that you always remain closely linked to current practice and standards.

In this role, you are a key link in guaranteeing quality, safety and efficiency within our inspection service.

Responsibilities

Team & People Leadership

• You closely follow your team members and monitor the quality of their activities.
• You optimize the availability of inspectors with planning in order to achieve maximum efficiency.
• You organize periodic meetings (technical meetings, toolboxes, etc.) paying particular attention to safety, health and quality.
• You are responsible for the integration and support of new employees in the field.
• You conduct selection and evaluation interviews and detect training needs and growth opportunities within your team.
• You approve leave, performance and overtime.

Technical and Operational Tasks

• You remain partially active as an inspector in order to keep your professional skills up to date.
• You answer first-line technical questions and coordinate with the technical expert for further follow-up.
• You work closely with the technical expert to ensure knowledge sharing, practical training and experience transfer within the team.
• You ensure the correct implementation of working methods, procedures and uniform working agreements.
• You follow complaints and suggest improvements to the operations manager.

Process Improvement

• You analyze the functioning of the team with a critical eye and formulate optimization proposals.

You report directly to the operations manager.

Requirements

• You have a Bachelor's degree, or you are an Industrial/Civil Engineer, or equivalent in terms of experience.
• You have the ability/experience to lead a team.
• You have relevant technical and functional skills (according to the skills matrix).
• You are strong in planning, organizing and monitoring.
• You demonstrate initiative, work with integrity and communicate clearly.
• You are empathetic, assertive and know how to give direction to your team.
