Role Summary
Description
We are looking for an expert professional in tax matters to ensure timely and accurate compliance with all tax obligations in Colombia. This role is critical to maintaining alignment with the global policies of our US headquarters, guaranteeing reporting under international standards and minimizing any risk of legal or financial contingency.
Technical Knowledge
Updated Colombian Tax Statute.
International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS/IFRS).
Knowledge of US GAAP is desirable.
Muisca platform domain and DIAN prevalidators.
Technological Tools
ERP: Advanced management of SAP or Oracle.
Excel: Advanced level (Pivot Tables, Power Query, Macros desirable).
Responsibilities
- Local Compliance: Lead the preparation and presentation of national (Income, VAT, Withholding) and territorial (ICA) declarations in Medellín and other cities of operation.
- Exogenous Information: Coordinate and guarantee the successful sending of national (DIAN) and district magnetic media.
- US Reporting (ASC 740): Collaborate on the quarterly and annual tax package under US GAAP standards, managing the provision of current and deferred taxes for consolidation in the US.
- Transfer Pricing: Manage data collection for the Local and Master Report, working with external consultants on the documentation of intercompany operations.
- Audit Management: Represent the company before the DIAN, the UGPP and external auditors, ensuring compliance with internal controls under the SOX Law.
- Strategy and Reconciliation: Carry out a detailed reconciliation between the accounting profit (IFRS) and the tax profit.
Requirements
Profile Requirements
- Training: Professional in Public Accounting with a valid Professional Card.
- Postgraduate: Specialization in Taxes (Completed or in progress).
- Experience: 3 to 5 years in tax departments of multinationals or Big 4 firms.
- Languages: Intermediate-Advanced English (B2). You must be able to participate in global calls and write technical reports for headquarters.
