Role Summary

This position is to work in person, in Juiz de Fora or Contagem, MG.

Who will you work with?

The Integration department is responsible for ensuring that the main stages of each project are completed with quality, on time and in line with our customers' requirements. The position of System Integration Engineer plays an important role, together with the Technical Project Manager, in defining system architecture and conducting projects and also for interfacing with the testing team to ensure proper validation of the components of PTC solutions.

Responsibilities

How will you make a difference?

As a System Integration Engineer, you will have a strategic position that covers the technical leadership of the groups involved in the development, validation and implementation of PTC Wabtec projects. The professional will be fundamental in ensuring that the various products being developed are aligned with the project requirements and that they are effective in their respective functions for the PTC system. The System Integration Engineer will also be very close to the integrated testing team, ensuring that the production environment is reproduced within the Wabtec laboratory structure, enabling the validation of products efficiently and within Wabtec quality standards.

What will your daily life be like?

  • Work on design and quality activities to produce the PTC solution agreed with the customer;
  • Coordinate design and software submissions/distributions;
  • Ensure that change management is properly communicated between the different design, development and quality teams;
  • Conduct periodic design reviews;
  • Work on creating requirements to guide development, testing and commissioning teams;
  • Ensure that all quality processes and steps have been completed;
  • Manage integration tests and lead defect management and resolution;
  • Monitor project success against quality goals, schedule and customer requirements, making necessary adjustments to meet expectations;
  • Coordinate field tests;
  • Be the technical and methodological reference within the Integration department;
  • Promote continuous improvement through analyzing metrics, identifying bottlenecks and proposing solutions;
  • Directly support global teams in planning releases, integrations and testing cycles;

Share knowledge with the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Requirements

Training in Computer Science, Engineering or related areas.

  • Advanced communication in English (oral and written);
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to express yourself clearly and concisely, appropriate to the audience;
  • Self-motivated, with proven ability to work independently and demonstrate strong leadership and teamwork skills;
  • Ability to develop a high level of credibility and positive relationships with subordinates, colleagues and managers;
  • Experience in systems integration (dependencies, overlay, messaging, interfaces, among others);
  • Knowledge of system design and architecture;
  • Skill in technical writing;
  • Knowledge of Software architecture;
  • Knowledge in preparing functional system requirements;
  • Experience in QA and software validation processes;
  • Ability to critically analyze and solve complex problems;
  • Ability to guide multifunctional teams and promote collaboration between areas;

Desirable

  • Familiarity with current rail industry rules and regulations;
  • Familiarity with train control design practices;
  • Knowledge in distributing demands and monitoring effort put into project tasks carried out by team members;

History with systems development.
