Role Summary

The Studio Operative plays a vital part in the creation and conversion of artwork into production-ready formats. This role ensures that visual concepts are accurately translated into electronic files and physical proofs, maintaining the high-quality standards required for final printed products while optimizing for production efficiency and sustainability.

Create images, redraw or enhance art, and recommend changes to improve the end product or correct errors.

Use graphic design and illustration software to convert artwork to production art and produce negatives, electronic files, and color proofs.

Determine necessary changes to artwork in order to maximize printing quality and production efficiency.

Produce finished electronic art for digital proofing and printing consistent with product specifications and requirements.

Collaborate with other departments regarding jobs and specifications, accuracy, timelines, and status.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in graphic design and illustration software.
  • Strong understanding of desktop prepress and color management principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain accuracy under tight deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
