Role Summary

We are looking for professionals with experience in foreign trade and customs compliance to participate in a multilingual expert knowledge project focused on tariff classification, customs regulation and international trade compliance in Mexico.

The project consists of analyzing realistic import and export scenarios, documenting how specialists make complex regulatory decisions, developing reference solutions and validating technical analyses. The materials developed will serve to support the development and evaluation of advanced artificial intelligence systems aimed at professional processes.

This is a flexible project-based consulting opportunity, ideal for professionals who currently practice or have recent practical experience in foreign trade and Mexican customs operations.

  • Hiring type: Independent consulting by project (Part-time and flexible)

Scope of work: 10-12 hours per week.

Experience using official resources such as ANAM, SAT, SNICE or VUCEM will be valued. Experience with foreign trade trading platforms is welcome, but not a requirement.

Functional English to understand project instructions and communicate with the team.

Knowledge of United States customs regulations, HTS classification or cross-border trade processes between Mexico and the United States will also be valued.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze realistic scenarios related to imports and exports in accordance with Mexican customs legislation.
  • Develop reference solutions for tariff classification and regulatory compliance exercises.
  • Document the technical and regulatory reasoning that supports each decision.
  • Review and validate alternative solutions from an expert perspective, verifying their technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify missing information, incorrect assumptions or inappropriate work sequences.
  • Reference, when appropriate, the Customs Law, LIGIE, TIGIE, NOMs, RRNA, T-MEC and other applicable provisions.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure that expert knowledge is properly documented.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of recent practical experience in customs agency, tariff classification, foreign trade compliance, import/export operations or related areas.
  • Current or recent practical experience (within the last two years) in Mexican customs operations.
