Role Summary
Conception, implementation and continuous development of a tax compliance management system (Tax CMS) for German companies with a particular focus on sales tax compliance
- Monitoring, analyzing and optimizing tax-relevant processes as well as carrying out risk analyses, control documentation and effectiveness tests
- Responsibility for the timely and proper preparation and coordination of tax returns (corporate tax, trade tax, sales tax and other tax reports)
- Support with quarterly and annual financial statements, tax reporting and the determination of current and deferred taxes according to internal group guidelines
- Analysis of tax risks, development of suitable measures to minimize risks and ensuring compliance with tax and transfer pricing regulations
- Contact person for tax authorities, tax audits, external tax advisors and internal stakeholders
- Tax advice for the finance, legal, payroll and HR departments as well as assessment of new business models, contracts and intra-group transactions
- Participation in national and international projects, for example in the context of M&A transactions, post-merger integrations, conversions and reorganizations
- Identification and implementation of automation and optimization potential in tax processes as well as conducting training on tax compliance requirements
Requirements
- Successfully completed studies in economics, law or finance with a focus on taxes
- successfully passed tax advisor exam
- several years of professional experience in the tax area of an international company or an auditing/tax consulting company
- In-depth knowledge of German income tax and sales tax law
- Experience in tax reporting and in the preparation and coordination of tax returns
- Knowledge of setting up or operating a tax compliance management system
- Very good knowledge of German and English, both spoken and written
- Structured, independent and solution-oriented way of working
