The ideal profile? You have deep PHP/Symfony experience, are familiar with TypeScript and want to take on responsibility like a founding engineer: pragmatically, cleanly, with an eye for the big picture. Responsibilities

• We are a very motivated engineering team with a lot of ownership and short communication channels. As part of this, you will build new features, solve scaling problems and take responsibility for entire projects - from the idea to clean operation.
• We are looking for people who not only process tickets, but also understand and improve systems and want to actively shape the e-invoicing landscape.

Our main application is written in PHP and TypeScript. In the area of e-invoicing, we also operate microservices on the JVM with Java and Kotlin. There are also MySQL or Percona XtraDB Cluster, TiDB, Elasticsearch, Redis, MinIO, Docker and other tools that are needed when 22,000+ companies rely on stable processes every day. Proficiency in multiple programming languages is important for this role.

• You work independently, motivated and self-organized. We like to invest in good colleagues – and at the same time have high expectations
• You work on modern interfaces and product-related workflows in the front end with TypeScript, React and TanStack
• You develop Node.js services for selected areas of our platform using TypeScript and Next.js

You work on JVM microservices with Java and Kotlin in the area of e-invoicing.

• You migrate data, refactor existing modules and cleanly modernize grown PHP areas step by step
• You go deep into error analysis and debugging when systems don't run as they should
• You use AI as a real productivity lever. For us, Claude Code is not a toy, but part of everyday engineering - and we expect you to work with it intensively
• Depending on the topic, you will also work on infrastructure and local Dockerized development environments

Requirements

• Basically, you don't have to be able to do everything. More importantly, you can show that you are really deep into your current technology stack, make good technical decisions and quickly familiarize yourself with new systems.
• Our stack is demanding, but you get clear priorities, good tools and a team that shares knowledge - we expect personal responsibility, the ability to learn and the desire to solve things cleanly.
• You have deep, independent knowledge of software development with PHP and Symfony at a senior level - with clean domain design, testing and performance in a large, long-lasting code base. Depending on your focus, you will also bring TypeScript/React with you
• You are confident in using relational databases such as MySQL, including query optimization and data modeling for large amounts of data
• Bonus: You have experience with Node.js, data structures & algorithms, distributed systems and data-heavy applications
• Bonus: You have experience with JVM languages such as Java or Kotlin. In general, we are happy to have exceptionally strong engineers, including from other stacks
• Bonus: You have open source contributions or public experiments on GitHub
• Language: You speak German fluently and have a good knowledge of English
