Job Overview
Job description
- Location:
- Canada
- Work arrangement:
- On-site
Role Summary
An “automation first” mindset, with a track record of prioritizing automated coverage over manual-only QA, and integrating reliability into the CI/CD pipeline.
Full-stack testing capability covering the UI and API layers, including experience with tools like Postman for API validation, ensuring complete coverage at all levels of the stack.
Expertise in test architecture and scalable design, with the ability to build maintainable automation suites according to industry standard design patterns (e.g. Page Object Model, data factories, segregation of responsibilities).
Comfort with Agile methodology and its tools, including comfort working in rapid release environments with frequent release cycles, and familiarity with test management platforms like Allure TestOps for tracking and reporting.
Strong experience with TypeScript and/or Go is an asset, as is experience with MySQL or a similar relational database.
This position may be for you if
You approach automation with a software engineering mindset, applying the same rigor, design patterns, and scalability standards that a developer applies to a key feature.
You are a fan of “Shift Left” (upstream testing) which clarifies requirements during planning, well before writing the first line of code.
You have a holistic, data-driven view of quality that goes beyond basic interface testing to leverage API testing, system signals, and customer feedback to find areas for improvement.
You are AI-oriented and technically curious, and you experiment with modern tools to refine your strategy and increase your impact.
You continually improve the team's ways of doing things and take charge of processes and documentation without being asked.
You should not apply if
You are primarily a manual tester and do not want to design automation or learn new technologies.
You prefer a reactive “waterfall” approach, where you wait until development is complete before getting involved.
You're looking for a narrow, fixed-scope role, where you run tests rather than questioning requirements and spotting gaps.
You prefer to work in isolation and do not want to improve the team's working methods, documentation or quality processes.
You are not ready to integrate AI tools into your daily work.
