Role Summary
In this position you will be responsible for the following tasks, among others:
Ensuring supplier performance and taking action to improve quality, cost and delivery dates (QCD) and meeting project requirements from the quotation phase to the start of production for the assigned projects
Improving project margins through strategic sourcing: requests for quotations (RFQs), supplier selection, contract negotiations, supplier management in the project, identification of savings potential (PPI) and management of QCD risks
Responsible for the implementation of the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process according to the quality guidelines, in particular for the team feasibility commitments in supplier selection
Early involvement in the offer phase as well as carrying out studies and price estimates, defining offer parts lists (Bid-BOM) and preparing “back-to-back” contract clauses
Questioning and optimizing the bill of materials (BOM) and using standardized R&D products to achieve cost and price reductions
Consideration of service requirements as early as the contract and development phase (e.g. spare parts, performance requirements and pricing)
Implementation of global and regional sourcing strategies including promoting sourcing in low-cost countries (low-cost coutries) in collaboration with the relevant commodity teams
Carrying out requests for quotations from selected suppliers and conducting negotiations as well as evaluating offers and selecting suitable suppliers together with quality, project management and product group management
- Ensuring contract signing in accordance with applicable approval guidelines (DoA)
- Maintenance of procurement rules in the ERP system
- Managing changes (e.g. ECRs) with suppliers after quotation approval as well as managing purchasing contracts and charge-back processes during the project phase
- Organizing technical reviews with suppliers, quality management, development and supply chain to ensure technical feasibility and fulfillment of specifications
- Control of various phases including industrialization audit, PPAP, initial sampling and handover to the product group and location purchasing teams
- Active participation in improving the group's purchasing performance including implementation of project purchasing reporting
- You ideally meet the following professional and personal requirements:
- You have a completed technical or business degree, ideally with a focus on supply chain or purchasing management
You have many years of professional experience in strategic purchasing or project purchasing for an industrial company with individual/project production as well as strong negotiation skills
- You have a high level of technical affinity and experience in dealing with complex technical products
- High degree of personal responsibility, results orientation and entrepreneurial thinking
- Fluent English skills; other foreign languages are an advantage
- Experience in a global industrial environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills as well as experience in cross-departmental collaboration
- A natural use of MS Office applications is part of your daily business
- You enjoy working in a team and are able to organize yourself
