Role Summary

As a Senior MES Engineer, you design, implement and optimize Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions across AbbVie's global manufacturing network, directly supporting the MES COE Manager's strategic vision for digital transformation and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities are

  • Collaborate with the MES COE manager and cross-functional teams to provide high-quality MES solutions, aligned with company strategy and standards.
  • Lead the technical design, configuration, integration and testing of MES applications for multiple manufacturing modalities and sites.
  • Develop, document and maintain MES best practices, playbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Lead community of practice (COP) meetings across AbbVie processes and promote model standardization and process simplification using advanced MES capabilities.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to MES engineers and collaborators.
  • Support the adoption of new MES technologies and digital transformation initiatives at the site and network levels.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and data to identify areas for process improvement, automation and harmonization driven by the MES.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, regulatory requirements and AbbVie operating procedures in all MES engineering activities.
  • Contribute to governance, technical documentation and training programs for MES solutions.
  • Support the implementation of the New Instance MES program via Global Recipe Templates.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners (technology, automation, operations, IT) to support MES initiatives and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Higher education Bac+5 type Engineering school with specialization in science, computer science or related field.
  • More than 3 years of experience in a similar position using the Manufacturing Execution System in the Pharmaceutical Industry, Automation or in regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of digital manufacturing concepts, how MES technologies work, and enterprise IT/OT integration.
  • Experience in process improvement, systems analysis and technical documentation in multi-site and global environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and to communicate effectively between business lines and technology teams.
  • Good knowledge of GMP, pharmaceutical regulatory standards and quality compliance requirements.
  • Experience with MES platforms, preferably POMS Aquila.
  • Ability to train/mentor junior staff and contribute to knowledge sharing across the network.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills.
