Senior Manager, Solutions Architecture

Role Summary

As Senior Director, Solutions Architecture, you will provide architectural leadership both during the pre-sales and implementation stages with our clients and executive partners. You will leverage your software delivery experience and technical expertise to architect, plan and launch new projects. Working with a delivery team, you will support ongoing projects and implement the vision of our client partners. Senior Solutions Architecture Directors bring their dynamic capabilities to a variety of scenarios, including presenting our capabilities to potential customers, leading architecture and discovery projects for new customer initiatives, and collaborating with a delivery team to realize their vision. During off-peak periods, our Solutions Architecture team acts as a roving catalyst to support ongoing projects, with L&D time dedicated to deepening their technology expertise in a chosen specialization (e.g., AWS).

Responsibilities

• Pre-Sales: Lead scoping, technical design and work planning during the pre-sales process, while introducing potential customers to our company's engineering capabilities.
• Delivery: Play lead role in technical architecture and discovery projects, using consulting methods to refine product and technical architecture of customer projects.
• Thematic expertise: Own a “technology vertical,” encompassing solution design, platform selection, implementation support, and thought leadership (e.g., AWS, content management systems, hybrid mobile frameworks, etc.)
• Roaming Catalyst: Strengthen existing project teams with account-level architectural advice or specific thematic expertise.

Requirements

Skills

• Multi-platform familiarity, with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
• Frontend: Swift, Kotlin, Maui, React Native, React, Angular, Flutter, TypeScript
• Backend: API (NodeJS, Spring, .NET, Python), Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), Data Services/Systems (SQL, NoSQL, Kafka)
• Content management systems, analytics platforms and other third-party frameworks
• Experience in software delivery in an agency/customer service environment
• Experience in business conversations involving budgets and fees
• Experience in software estimating, work planning and developing project plans within time and cost constraints
• Ability to break down complex ideas for technical and non-technical audiences
• Enthusiasm to learn the principles of mobile software development
• Experience in rapidly iterating and refining a product vision with a client by proposing multiple approach options

This position can be performed in a Hybrid Work From Near mode in one of the following offices: Boston, MA, Columbus, OH, Charlottesville, VA or Durham, NC, OR in a Full Remote Work mode (Work From Anywhere) with planned travel to client locations and TELUS Digital Solutions offices.
