Role Summary

As part of our strategic investment in geosciences, we are now looking for a senior geotechnician for our office in Oslo.

The geotechnical community at AFRY has grown significantly in recent years, and we now have around 40 geotechnical colleagues in geotechnics, environmental geology and engineering geology - spread over our offices in Oslo and Trondheim.

Within geotechnics, we currently have eight geotechnicians at the office in Oslo, and five at the office in Trondheim. There is close cooperation between the office in Oslo and Trondheim, both in projects and with internal development.

We are taking an increasingly large part in a growing market, particularly within transport. Among our projects you will find the E18 Langangen–Rugtvedt, E16 Hande–Øylo, E105 Gjønnestunnelen and E6 Ranheim–Værnes – in addition to a number of small and medium-sized assignments within construction, infrastructure and facilities.

Responsibilities

Your duties may include

Geotechnical consultancy and engineering
Assignment management and professional management
Inspection and follow-up of building and construction projects
Professional assessments in tender work
Contribute to further development of the professional environment and section
Participate in development work within e.g. digitalisation, sustainability, natural hazards – depending on your interests and experience

Requirements

You are a qualified geotechnician with over eight years' experience, and have a strong interest in the subject. You are a positive and committed team player who wants to create value together with customers and colleagues. You take initiative, show ownership and the ability to familiarize yourself with the customer's challenges.

Good communication skills in Norwegian - both orally and in writing - are a requirement.
