Snowed in Studios is a game development studio based in Ottawa, Canada. As part of Keywords Studios’ Game Development service line, we provide development support to some of the most important and exciting games being made today. We are currently looking to add experienced Senior Generalist Game Programmers to our already amazing team. As a "Snowmie" programmer, you will use your awesome skills in C++ / C# to help our client studios to bring their games to realization. As a seasoned pro, you may also be asked to take the technical lead on some projects, as well as help us
grow and develop our junior programmers.
You will use your passion for games, insatiable curiosity, and versatility to work on a variety of projects and across all aspects of game development. In return, you will be part

the development of top-tier games.
Responsibilities

- Working closely with client studios to bring their games to realization
- Designing, implementing, and debugging game features
- Working on game toolsets and pipelines
- Analyzing and optimizing runtimes
- Collaborating on systems and tools to help designers implement their creative vision
- Building a solid relationship with your programming peers in-house and around the world
- Supporting your team mates to accomplish goals
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements
What you'll bring to the table
- 5+ years professional experience
- Advanced programming skills in C++ and C# with strong understanding of the fundamentals
- Emphasizes a deeper understanding of what the code is doing, not just that it works
- Experience with game engines such as Unity 3D and Unreal Engine
- Experience working in large codebases
- Understands how to analyze and optimize code
- Strong problem solving skills
- Comfortable with vector and matrix math and good with algorithms
- Understands various design patterns and their benefits/draw backs
- BSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Bonus points
- Experience with console development (PS5, Xbox Series X, etc.)
- Experience with mobile development
- Shipped game(s)
- Experience working directly with external clients
- This position is currently open to candidates residing in the following Canadian provinces only: Ontario or Quebec. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada and reside in the eligible province(s) listed above.

What you bring to the team
- At least 5 years of professional experience
- Advanced programming skills in C++ and C#, coupled with a strong understanding of essential concepts
- Willingness to truly understand what the code does, not just whether it works
- Experience with game engines like Unity 3D and Unreal Engine
- Experience working with large code bases
- Understanding how to analyze and optimize code
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with vector and matrix mathematics and talent for algorithms
- Understanding of various design patterns, including their advantages and disadvantages
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience
Bonus points
- Experience in development for consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X, etc.)
- Experience developing for mobile devices
- Commercialized game(s) to your credit
- Experience working directly with external clients

- Salary range: between CA$92,000 and CA$132,000, depending on experience and skills
