Senior Data Center Maintenance Manager

Role Summary

Establishes operational objectives, policies, procedures and work plans and delegates assignments to subordinates. Develops, modifies and executes company policies that affect immediate operations and may also have company-wide effect. Accountable for department budget which may be broad and have far reaching impact on the business segment.

As a Senior Data Center Maintenance Manager your main mission will be to define operational objectives, policies, procedures and work plans, and delegate missions to employees. Develop, modify and implement company policies that impact immediate operations and may also have a company-wide effect. You will be responsible for the department's budget, which can be large and have a broad impact on the business segment.

Responsibilities

Management

• Manages experienced level professionals and/or may be responsible for subordinate managers
• Manages team to work safely, effectively and with high regard to human error avoidance
• Manages personnel details including salaries, positioning, hire/fire, reviews, coaching, and development
• Leads in project management and incident resolution

Project / Infrastructure Site Management

• Plans, coordinates, approves budgets, and implements resources to complete projects and maintenance within the data centers
• Overall site and/or multi-site capacity management

Vendor Management

• Manages the team to ensure completion to Equinix's required standards, (KPI's) Key Performance Indicators and (SLA's) Service Level Agreements.

Testing

• Ensures correct processes are followed and all documentation is complete
• Takeover of new builds and building infrastructure
• Approves all (MOP) Maintenance Operation Protocol scripts and permits
• Participates as part of the new facility/infrastructure design team

Incident Management

• Communicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during a complex or severe customer-impacting incident
• Drives root cause analysis and provides a clear direction
• Drives approval for incident resolution

Management

• Supervises experienced professionals and/or may be responsible for line managers
• Supervises the team to work safely and efficiently, with strong attention to preventing human errors
• Manages HR aspects including compensation, positioning, hiring/firing, appraisals, coaching and development
• Leads project management and incident resolution

Site management - Projects / Infrastructure

• Plans, coordinates, approves budgets and mobilizes the necessary resources to carry out projects and maintenance within data centers
• Overall management of site capacity and/or multiple sites

Service provider management

• Supervises the team to ensure execution complies with the standards required by Equinix, (KPI) key performance indicators and (SLA) service level agreements

Testing

• Ensures compliance with processes and completeness of documentation
• Support for new constructions and building infrastructures
• Approves all maintenance operations protocol scripts and permits (MOPs)
• Participate in the design team for new facilities/infrastructure

Incident management

• Communicates and coordinates activities and personnel on site during a complex or serious incident with customer impact
• Drives root cause analysis and provides clear direction
• Validates and obtains the necessary approvals for the resolution of incidents

Requirements

• Proven years of related experience or equivalent work experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• Excellent written and spoken English and French skills, enabling fully autonomous communication during crisis situations with all internal and external stakeholders, as well as the drafting and approval of detailed incident reports

French Translation

• Bac+2 to +5 in a technical sector (electricity, air conditioning, fire and physical safety, GTC)
• Confirmed experience in this type of function, ideally in a similar environment operating sensitive environments
• Very good level of written and oral English and French, allowing you to independently manage the communication of crisis situations with all internal and external stakeholders, as well as the drafting and approval of detailed incident reports
• Attention to detail, rigor
• Ease of communicating with third parties and internal customers
• Sense of responsibility, customer commitment, service.
