Role Summary
Tieto Tech Consulting (MentorMate from 2001 to 2026) provides design-led, data-centric, and AI-powered digital engineering & consulting services to enterprises worldwide. With a strong heritage of Nordic quality, local presence, and global-scale operations, we are backed by 8,500+ IT professionals. Our clients trust us for advanced data and analytics skills, top industry-specific expertise, specialized software R&D, and the capabilities of a multinational team. We are part of Tieto, a leading technology company with an annual revenue of approximately EUR 2bn.
Tieto Tech Consulting’s team in Bulgaria consists of 500+ professionals specializing in the development of tailored digital solutions in diverse industries.
We’re looking to hire a Senior Atlassian Administrator/ Atlassian Solution Architect to join the leading provider of digital health solutions within the health tech business. In this role, you will architect, administer, and scale Jira Cloud and Confluence Cloud environments with an automation-first approach. You will streamline software development and IT service workflows, working closely with cross-functional teams to improve traceability, operational efficiency, and governance across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Administer and improve Jira Cloud, Jira Service Management, and Confluence Cloud configurations across multiple projects and teams.
- Configure and troubleshoot workflows, screens, fields, permissions, issue-level security, roles, boards, queues, SLAs, request types, and project settings.
- Build and maintain Jira Automation rules for Issue lifecycle management, notifications, approvals, field updates, cross-project logic, and operational support.
- Work with Xray in Jira Cloud, including project enablement, API token handling, test execution issues, import troubleshooting, permissions, test environments, and traceability-related support.
- Use ScriptRunner for Cloud where native Jira Automation is not enough, especially for enhanced JQL, REST-based actions, scripted logic, validations, field mapping, and admin support scripts.
- Create and maintain Python scripts using Atlassian REST APIs for admin operations such as user lookup, account ID resolution, team lookup, permission checks, bulk updates, reporting, and cleanup activities.
- Support Confluence administration, including space permissions, admin cleanup, onboarding documentation, templates, and controlled knowledge management.
- Help maintain governance around automation, scripts, permissions, access models, tokens, and admin changes.
- Work with product, QA, ITSM, engineering, security, and platform teams to translate process needs into practical Atlassian solutions.
- Document solutions clearly so other admins and teams can understand, maintain, and safely reuse them.
Required experience & qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Jira Cloud administration.
- Strong hands-on experience with Jira Service Management Cloud, including queues, request workflows, approvals, SLAs, customer-facing configurations, and project setup.
- Solid experience with Confluence Cloud administration, including space management, permissions, documentation structure, and admin-focused knowledge content.
- Proven experience designing and maintaining Jira Automation rules, using JQL, smart values, branching, conditions, scheduled triggers, web requests, and audit logs.
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities across automation behavior, permissions, workflow blockers, field configurations, board behavior, and project scheme conflicts.
- Practical experience with Xray for Jira Cloud for test management and traceability.
- Experience working with ScriptRunner for Jira Cloud, leveraging it for advanced querying, scripting, or extending platform capabilities.
- Experience developing or maintaining Python scripts using Atlassian Cloud REST APIs for administrative and automation purposes.
- Solid understanding of API authentication, account IDs, pagination, rate limits, error handling, and safe execution of bulk operations.
- Good understanding of permissions and access management in Jira and Confluence.
- Experience integrating Jira/Confluence with CI/CD or development tools such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Bitbucket, or similar.
- Experience working in enterprise environments, where changes are reviewed, documented, and tested prior to rollout.
- Strong communication skills, particularly when working with non-admin stakeholders to clarify requirements and align on expected behavior before implementing changes.
Requirements
A significant advantage would be
- Experience working in regulated or enterprise environments (e.g., healthcare and life sciences, compliance-heavy domains)
- Exposure to Atlassian solution design and cross-project architecture, including shared schemes and standardization
- Experience defining governance practices (automation, scripting, naming conventions, documentation, change control)
- Familiarity with enterprise Atlassian capabilities, such as Atlassian Access (SSO/SAML, SCIM) or identity management
- Experience with reporting, analytics, or platform integrations (e.g., eazyBI, Atlassian Analytics, Power BI, or CMDB/Assets)
