R&D Principal Engineer - Elastomers Technical & Scientific Leader M/F

As an R&D Staff Engineer, within the group of product experts, you will be responsible for carrying out the following activities:

Responsibilities

• Represent R&D in strategic technical projects/programs and act as Elastomers referent.
• Develop and maintain product expertise on elastomeric materials, carry out technical analyzes and formulate recommendations.
• Define the scientific and technological strategy (short/medium/long term) in elastomers, including the detection of promising technologies and the development of partnerships.
• Ensure the role of technical coach on advanced themes (materials science, formulation, transformation, characterization, modeling) and challenge supplier practices.
• Lead technical problem resolution, risk management and multidisciplinary investigations in the event of product failure.
• Manage and coordinate projects (planning, budget, resources), produce compliant documentation and guarantee compliance with BD Quality policies and practices.

Profile sought

• General Engineering degree or Bac+5 with a technical focus, with more than 15 years of experience in elastomeric materials (formulation, mechanics, transformation, molding).
• Experience appreciated in the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry.
• Demonstrated ability to work in multifunctional project mode and represent R&D in resource and deadline commitments.
• Strong team leadership skills, coordination of R&D activities and project portfolio management.
• Ability to influence, convince and involve the organization in technical and technological orientations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, scientific pedagogy and ability to represent BD in conferences or specialized publications.

Salary range: €58,000 - €80,000

Our pay is based on the role and the necessary skills and education to perform it successfully. The salary or hourly rate offered is determined by the role's specific requirements, including any applicable step rate pay system at the work location. Salary or hourly pay ranges are influenced by labor laws and Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) requirements applicable to the work location which may also affect the workplace arrangement of the role.
