We are looking for an experienced, motivated and team-oriented PostDoc in the field of Cell-Based Potency Assays for Botulinum Neurotoxins (all genders)

This is how you make the difference

You have a doctorate in molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology or a related field.

You have at least three years of experience with cell-based assays to model the mechanisms of action of molecules.

Experience in the functional characterization of neurotoxins is an advantage

You have extensive experience in cell culture and basic molecular biology techniques, such as: B. the design of plasmids/proteins, methods for detecting proteins (e.g. via flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy or binding assays), methods for measuring protein/protein interactions, generation of stably transfected cells and reporter gene assays.

You are able to analyze and present data in a broader context and are committed to defending data in scientific discussions in local and global teams.

As a highly motivated, responsible and results-oriented person with excellent communication and presentation skills, you will be driven by innovative ways of thinking to improve processes, methods, systems, products or services.

Responsibilities

Specifically, this means

  • You will take a leading role in the design and development of innovative cell-based assay formats for the characterization and quality control of botulinum neurotoxins.
  • A strong focus will be on methods that map the mechanism of action of neurotoxins through targeted genetic modification of neuronal cells.
  • You will work in cross-functional teams with colleagues from groups adjacent to our Development Sciences organization, both at Abbvie Ludwigshafen and other global AbbVie locations.
  • As a member of the Bioassay Sciences and Development group, you will benefit from the team's in-depth expertise in the area of functional characterization of biologics.
  • As a postdoctoral researcher, you will closely follow the technological landscape in the field of potency and binding assays
