An opportunity awaits to step into a leading Tier One gold mining company for an experienced payroll professional to join the team to provide critical support during a busy period. This is a short-term contract commencing in late October and running through to early January, based in South Perth.

Given the short-term nature of the assignment, we're looking for someone who can hit the ground running, build relationships quickly, and take ownership of payroll processing from day one.

Responsibilities

  • Process multiple fortnightly payrolls using Pronto.
  • Process payroll changes as directed by HR, including new starters, terminations, salary increases and employee movements via Employee Connect.
  • Establish and maintain processes to accurately organise and pay employee leave entitlements.
  • Run payroll reports and assist with payroll reconciliations.
  • Process termination payments as required.
  • Respond to payroll queries from employees, site personnel and internal stakeholders.
  • Liaise with HR and operational sites regarding unusual or out-of-policy payroll transactions.
  • Upload salary increases as part of the Annual Remuneration Review process.
  • Complete statutory reporting requirements in line with legislative obligations.
  • Support the payroll function with ad hoc tasks and continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, systems and relevant payroll legislation.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience processing end-to-end payroll within a medium to large organisation.
  • Previous experience managing multiple payroll cycles in a high-volume environment.
  • Experience using Pronto Payroll or a similar ERP/payroll system.
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Experience processing terminations, leave entitlements and payroll adjustments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the confidence to liaise across HR, operations and employees.
  • The ability to work autonomously, prioritise competing deadlines and become productive quickly.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach with a commitment to delivering a quality payroll service.
