Motriz is looking for a Monitoring, Evaluation and Research Coordinator to lead the structuring, analysis and dissemination of educational data that guide the decision-making of partner departments and the organization itself. The person will be responsible for transforming raw data from assessments and educational indicators into rigorous and actionable analyses, in addition to contributing to the design of interfaces and integrations that facilitate access and use of this data by public managers and internal teams.

Reporting to the area's Management, the person will work at the intersection of applied research, data management and evidence-based local advocacy, with strong dialogue with program teams, technology and institutional partners.

Responsibilities

Data monitoring and analysis

  • Coordinate the collection, structuring and analysis of data from educational assessments (e.g. SAEB, state/municipal assessments, flow and learning indicators).
  • Develop and maintain analytical models and predictors of educational results, connecting input, process and outcome data.
  • Ensure the quality, consistency and updating of databases used by the organization and partners.

Structuring data tools

  • Contribute to the design and evolution of interfaces and visualization panels that make data accessible and understandable for secretariat managers.
  • Work together with the technology team to define integration requirements between different educational data sources and systems.
  • Translate public managers' needs into functional specifications for new analytical functionalities.

Assessment and research

  • Plan and conduct process and result evaluations of Motriz programs.
  • Produce studies, technical notes and reports that support internal and partner strategic decisions.
  • Keep up to date with academic literature and evidence on educational policy, applying them to the context in which the organization operates.

Relationship management and data communication

  • Present analyzes and recommendations to secretariat leadership, council and funders, in a clear and action-oriented way.
  • Support the preparation of materials for strategic meetings, councils and external events.
  • Collaborate with program teams to ensure effective use of data in school management and policy formulation.

Team and process management

  • Coordinate analyst(s) and/or intern(s) in the monitoring and evaluation area.
  • Establish quality routines and protocols for production and validation of analyses.

Requirements

More information

  • Higher education in Economics, Statistics, Social Sciences, Education, Data Science or related areas.
  • Solid experience in educational data analysis, public policy evaluation or applied research.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g. Stata, R, Python or SQL).
  • Experience with educational microdata bases (School Census, INEP, SAEB, state assessments) is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to translate complex analyzes into clear recommendations for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in designing or specifying panels/dashboards and data interfaces (it is not necessary to program the tools, but rather know how to specify requirements with technical teams).
  • Excellent written and oral communication, with experience in producing reports and presentations.

Differences

  • Postgraduate degree (master's or doctorate) in Economics, Education or related areas.
  • Previous experience in third sector organizations, education departments or educational research institutions.
  • Knowledge of impact assessment methods (e.g. differences in differences, matching, discontinuous regression).
  • Familiarity with the educational technology (EdTech) ecosystem and AI tools applied to education.
