Microbiólogo - Traslado a North Sioux City, SD

Role Summary

This position operates in a laboratory environment with equipment such as analytical balances, food homogenization equipment, pipetting tools, incubators, water baths, plate readers, various commercial protein and DNA based technologies for the detection of food pathogens (VIDAS, BAX, GDS, GeneUp, BioRAd), spectrophotometer, VITEK Microbial Identification System, basic wet chemistry equipment for the analysis of moisture, protein, fat, ash and salt.

Handles samples and performs analyzes in accordance with Operating Procedures and testing methodology.

Maintains and verifies equipment.

Reports deficiencies or malfunctions to supervisor.

Maintains records of all quality activities as documented in Operating Procedures and test methods.

Identifies and records nonconformities in Corrective Action Requests.

Please note that if you reside in Mexico and will be relocating to the United States for this position, you will receive a one-time relocation payment to support your move to the workplace. This amount will be included in your first paycheck. The relocation bonus is conditional on your continued employment with the company for a minimum of twelve (12) months. If you voluntarily resign or are terminated for cause before completing twelve months of service, you will be required to repay the full relocation amount.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or related field, or commercial laboratory experience - Required

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

• Linguistic Skills: English
• Mathematical Skills: Basic level of knowledge
• Reasoning Skills/Abilities: Basic level

• Proficient Computer Skills
• Computer Skills: Basic use of the Microsoft Office 365 suite required, experience with the LIMS system

This job is performed in a professional office environment. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and telephones.

Regularly operates laboratory equipment such as analytical balances, food homogenization equipment, pipetting tools, incubators, water baths, plate readers, various commercial protein and DNA-based technologies for the detection of pathogens in foods (VIDAS, BAX, GDS, GeneUp, BioRad), spectrophotometers and the VITEK Microbial Identification System.
