Metallurgical Laboratory Supervisor - Moquegua (Mining)

Role Summary

Direct the personnel in charge of daily operations to ensure the quality of work, providing administrative and technical direction, complying with the policies, standards and procedures established by Quellaveco in terms of safety, environment, health and quality.

Knowledge of Balances and statistics applied to mineral processing

Be responsible for compliance with legal and internal regulations of Quellaveco and the internal work regulations.

Schedule and distribute the work of the personnel under your charge, in response to client priorities and work situations that are required.

Supervision and/or execution of Metallurgical tests

Copper & Molybdenum Flotation Tests

Bond Work Index, SGI and Abrasion Index commination tests.

Sedimentation Tests (Flocculant and/or Coagulant)

Granulometric Analysis (Grinding & Flotation)

Metallurgical tests for the evaluation of reagents (Collectors, Foamers, flocculants, ceramic media).

Hydrodynamic characterization of Bulk Plant flotation cells (Use of Bubble Sizer).

Planning and sampling in Concentrator Plant

Grinding circuit, SAG Mill, Ball Mill, Pebble Crusher, Vibrating Screen (Under Screen / Over Screen), Cyclone Nest (underflow and overflow feed).

Bulk flotation circuit (global or staged Ro‐Scv sampling, regrinding stage, Cleaner stage).

Moly flotation circuit (global or staged Ro‐Scv sampling, regrinding stage, Cleaner stage).

Sampling in concentrate warehouses and emergency pools for the monthly inventory of the concentrator plant.

Permanently identify and report to the laboratory head the accidents, incidents, acts and substandard conditions observed that occur during the development of operations or various entrusted activities.

Requirements

• Licensed and certified in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Metallurgical degrees.
• Minimum experience of 5 in similar positions.
• Driver's license from AI.
• Knowledge of sampling, Metallurgical Testing.
• Knowledge of metallurgical testing and mineral processing.
• Knowledge of sampling and sample preparation.
• Experience in process control, crushing, grinding, flotation, thickening and filtering circuits.
• Experience in the development of metallurgical balances for grinding, collective flotation and Cu-Mo selectics.
