Role Summary

Objective/Summary

Under the supervision of the systems operations supervisor, the position holder carries out the design and manufacturing drawings for various systems used to ensure non-destructive testing. The holder of the position must draw up, monitor and transfer into production all the parts assigned to him. He carries out the various tasks related to the group's activities, such as creating and maintaining recipes for assemblies linked to the systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare plans, models and engineering drawings based on sketches, preliminary concepts, engineering calculations and specifications.
  • Ensure that drawings comply with specifications and design data.
  • Prepare manufacturing drawings in accordance with requirements and transfer them to production;
  • Complete customer documentation for maintenance and spare parts.
  • Adapt standard mechanical designs to the reality of customer needs;
  • Calculate the dimension chains and specify the geometric tolerances for each part according to the standards in force;
  • Ensure the manufacturability of parts and validate the assembly (DFM/A);
  • Support the integration of the system in the laboratory and modify the plans if necessary (as-built);
  • Process engineering changes through the ECN process;
  • Analyze and resolve the issues raised, using a structured approach;
  • Work closely with your superior and colleagues, in order to prioritize, monitor and communicate the different tasks and projects;
  • Perform any other related task at the request of your superior.
  • Get involved and actively participate in the development and implementation of the culture of continuous improvement.
  • Minimum QualificationsRelevant education and experience
  • D.E.P. Industrial drawing / D.E.C. in mechanical engineering;
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in drawing and designing high-tech products.

Requirements

Technical skills

  • Experience with SolidEdge, SolidWorks and/or Inventor, an asset;
  • Knowledge and experience in ERP and PLM software, an asset;
  • Be able to read and understand mechanical plans and specifications;

Good knowledge of Microsoft office tools.
