Mechanical calculation engineer (M/F)

Mechanical calculation engineer (M/F) at ALTEN in Boulogne-Billancourt, IDF, France.

Responsibilities

• Carry out finite element modeling to assess the mechanical strength of structures and guide design choices
• Analyze simulation results, identify critical areas and propose optimizations
• Contribute to the definition of calculation hypotheses, material laws and boundary conditions
• Write calculation notes and supporting files, and present the conclusions to the project teams
• Collaborate with the design and testing teams to correlate models and make predictions more reliable

Requirements

• Training / Experience
• Bac+5 diploma (engineering school or equivalent), with a specialization in mechanics, materials, mechanical engineering or equivalent
• First successful experience (approximately 3 years) in mechanical calculation or numerical simulation

Technical skills

• Finite element modeling
• Knowledge of metallic materials and their behavior
• Mastery of an FEA tool and pre/post-processing software
• Ability to analyze, synthesize and justify calculation results
• Personal qualities
• Autonomy, rigor, spirit of analysis and synthesis
• Relational ease and writing skills
• Languages and mobility
• Professional command of English (read, written, spoken)
