We are looking for a new Material Development colleague in the ContiTech technology department. Come and join us.
- Development of new rubber and composite materials, material platforms and innovative technologies for ContiTech's industrial products
- Development of new processable rubber compound materials that meet product requirements (aligned with process and product design)
- Ensuring compliance with platform material rules and (customer) standards and legislation (e.g. FDA, ESH, REACH)
- application of sustainable material solutions (renewable and recycled materials, degradable materials, substitutes with a lower carbon footprint)
- Management of research and development projects with high business criticality
- Providing technical expertise, encouraging knowledge sharing and supporting project teams in problem solving
- Central contact for ContiTech's area of responsibility worldwide
- Introduction of new formulas into manufacturing plants, sustainability and innovation, cost and quality improvement, and consolidation of compounds
- Support serial introduction of new products, including testing and process tracking and liaising with relevant departments and functions
- Management and evaluation of material tests. Including rheological, mechanical, chemical, physical and forensic analyses
- Identify and implement process optimization opportunities in topics such as surface treatments, bonding, compounding/mixing, vulcanization, extrusion, and
- injection and injection molding
- Drive activities to improve and standardize procedures as part of a lean and agile organization
- Cooperation with other research and development functions (research, process development, product development, material testing), operations and business areas
- Expectations
- University degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or similar
- Experience in the development of rubber, elastomers, composites or similar materials; including testing and data analysis
- Extensive experience in rubber, composite or plastic manufacturing processes
Strong analytical skills - problem solving, decision making, data classification, examining correlations, etc.
- Strong customer-oriented thinking, responsibility and collaboration skills
- Effective time management skills to complete projects in a timely and efficient manner
- Intercultural Fluency - Ability to work with people from different cultures around the world
- Project management experience
- Fluency in spoken and written English
