Role Summary

As an IT system administrator with a focus on Linux and virtualization environments, you are primarily responsible for the operational technical support of complex server landscapes as well as virtualization and container environments in our data center in Magdeburg.

Responsibilities

• Provision, implementation and operation of virtualization platforms and server systems (Linux)
• Management and troubleshooting of server landscapes
• Ensuring data security and data protection
• Resource monitoring and planning
• System monitoring and availability monitoring
• Update and patch management
• Integration of server systems into the existing DMZ and network infrastructure
• Problem analysis and solution
• Maintenance of application servers and user support
• User administration including rights management
• Creation and maintenance of operationally relevant documentation

Requirements

Successfully completed training as an IT specialist or completed studies in the field of IT; alternatively: several years of professional experience in the specialist area

• Profound experience as an IT system administrator, with a focus on Linux
• Extensive experience operating virtualization and container environments, ideally Kubernetes and Docker
• Knowledge of network infrastructure
• Basic knowledge of IT security, virus protection, firewall
• In-depth knowledge of deployment automation and DevOps is an advantage
• Independent and responsible way of working
• Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively
• Communication and team skills
• Interest in continuously developing yourself and familiarizing yourself with new topics
