Role Summary

We're looking for a CPA who wants to build something — not from scratch, and not alone, but with the freedom to shape a practice the way it should be shaped.

Our firm provides integrated financial care to physician families across California and several other U.S. states. We currently serve hundreds of households, and we're adding to the ways we serve them.

Today, our clients' tax and bookkeeping needs are served through external partner firms we've worked with for years. That partnership has helped us get to where we are, and it will continue. At the same time, we see meaningful gaps we'd like to fill ourselves — starting with bill pay and straightforward tax preparation. We'd like you to lead that work.

WHAT YOU'D BE BUILDING

A premium, integrated practice that complements the financial planning our clients already receive from us. You'd start with a built-in client base, an established brand, and something most CPAs building a practice never get: a global team of seasoned client service associates who handle first contact and administrative support. That means your time goes to the craft and the client conversations, not to sales, marketing, recruiting, legal, nor IT.

The practice is designed to evolve with our clients' needs over time, and you'll have a meaningful voice in how it grows.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU'D DO

  • Provide bill pay services for elders and high-net-worth client families
  • Prepare straightforward personal tax returns, primarily for W-2 households
  • Shape how the practice grows, including how we manage the natural seasonality of tax work

Collaborate with other team leaders to design repeatable systems that fit within our existing framework. Fitting in with our processes is essential.

YOU'LL ALSO BRING YOUR EXPERTISE TO

  • Helping clients keep their financial records organized and decision-ready
  • Guiding clients through entity-related questions that come up in their financial lives
  • Bringing a tax-informed perspective into our team's planning conversations
  • Being a trusted, knowledgeable resource for clients on the financial details that matter to them

Requirements

  • Licensed CPA in good standing
  • Meaningful experience in tax preparation, with some exposure to bookkeeping
  • Drawn to the idea of designing a practice rather than inheriting one
  • A clear, warm communicator who genuinely enjoys client relationships
  • Comfortable working remotely and collaborating across time zones
  • Interested in the physician niche, or excited to learn it deeply

About the Company

HOW WE WORK

We've been a fully distributed company since 2013, and over the years we've built a global team of seasoned client service associates who handle first contact and administrative support for every advisor, including you. Our shared priority is to protect your time for online conversations with clients.

Compensation is negotiable and tailored to the right person. We're open to W-2 with bonus or 1099, depending on what fits your situation and goals.
