Demonstrate your know-how and become part of our team at the Ludwigshafen site as Associate Scientist II & Scientist I (laboratory employee) - development and implementation of cellular and binding assays for pharmaceutical biologics (all genders)
In this role, as an experienced scientist (all genders), you will carry out state-of-the-art & innovative potency assays, including cell-based and binding assays, for GMP-compliant release and stability analysis of biologics.
Specifically, this means
- Validation of protein analytical methods; particularly bioassay and ELISA methods
- Drug substance and drug product characterization, release and stability testing in late-stage pharmaceutical development
- Carrying out internal and coordinating external analytical laboratory activities
- Support for commercial potency assays
- Execution of method transfers to external contract laboratories as well as Abbvie's internal, global operations laboratories
GMP-compliant execution and documentation of tests, creation of laboratory reports in German and English as well as documentation support for official submissions
- Participate and communicate independently in local/global meetings and collaborate with neighboring departments in Ludwigshafen and other locations
- Development of concepts and implementation of device qualification and support of external service providers
- Participation in scientific initiatives and infrastructure projects
Requirements
This is how you make the difference
- Bachelor's/technical degree or equivalent training with usually 5 years of relevant professional experience, alternatively master's degree or equivalent training with usually two years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong analytical skills, in-depth knowledge and practical experience in eukaryotic cell culture and cell-based assay development, as well as binding assays (e.g. ELISA, surface plasmon resonance, etc.)
- Experience in developing and qualifying cell-based in vitro assays to reflect the relevant mechanism of action of the molecule
- Experience in using pipetting robots for cell-based assays is an advantage
- In-depth experience in a GxP-regulated environment
- Experience with statistical analysis (including statistical software, e.g. JMP, PLA) and experiment planning and script programming is an advantage
- Highly motivated, self-reliant and results-oriented with excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
- Very good knowledge of German and good English, both spoken and written
