Role Summary
Performs microbiological analysis, using predetermined techniques to meet the demands of the services in your area, complying with all safety regulations and control standards, as well as organizational and environmental policies.
Participates in updating or developing new methodologies, from the execution of methods, recording of results, data processing, procedures and protocols as requested.
Operates, facilitates and maintains the optimal functioning of the equipment and supplies related to its functions, and is responsible for notifying the presence of defects or if replacement is required.
Carry out microbiological analyzes of different types of samples. Implement and validate/verify the analysis methods and techniques of the microbiology laboratory.
Carry out analysis and preparation of samples in accordance with the provisions of the test methods and following good laboratory practices. • Attend external and internal audits • Ensure the proper functioning of laboratory equipment and maintain control over measurement means. Qualify teams. • Develop and validate/verify analysis methods • Comply with quality, safety and comprehensive hygiene standards of the laboratory.
Requirements
Formal Studies: Chemical Analyst, Intermediate Level Technician, Higher Level Technician, University Technician, Professional Technician or other studies oriented to the areas of Chemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, depending on the service area. Technical professional, truncated or with a degree in the areas of Biology, QBP, Biochemical Engineering, Clinical Chemistry, Food Chemistry or related.
Experience: ideal 2 years experience
- Minimum necessary skills: Practical and theoretical management of analysis methods according to the area or service.
- Knowledge: Procedures and use of laboratory equipment. Safety and traceability standards in the treatment of samples.
Management of microbiology analytical techniques, strain control, sterilization, PCR, plating techniques, membrane filtration, preparation and control of culture media and strains, in food and water samples. Example: coliforms, total count, listeria, Salmonella. H&N Sector: Microbiological analysis of food I&E Sector: Analysis of water, soil, waste, etc. samples. Knowledge of good laboratory practices and ISO 17025 management systems, Cofepris approval processes, for food and water laboratories. Preferably having been a signatory.
