Role Summary

3Eightnine Scarborough is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Hand to join our hospitality team on a casual basis

. Based in Scarborough, QLD 4020, this role is perfect for someone looking for flexible work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Kitchen Hand, you will play a vital role in supporting our culinary operations, ensuring our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently whilst maintaining the highest standards of food preparation and hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and organising ingredients for cooking and food service
• Cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment, utensils and work surfaces to maintain health and safety standards
• Assisting chefs with food preparation tasks including chopping, peeling and basic food assembly
• Managing kitchen waste and ensuring proper disposal procedures are followed
• Loading and operating dishwashers and maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen
• Supporting food service by organising plates and containers for meal delivery
• Restocking kitchen supplies and monitoring inventory levels
• Following all food safety regulations and company hygiene policies
• Responding to changing demands during service periods and assisting team members as needed

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a kitchen or food preparation environment is desirable
• A strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy and fast-paced environment
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Reliability and punctuality, particularly important for casual shift work
• Willingness to follow instructions and learn new skills
• A positive attitude and commitment to maintaining a clean and organised kitchen
