You don't build an ordinary report.

You make technical information usable for people who have to work with it.

You work together with experienced technical specialists and are given the space to ask questions, make mistakes and learn.

Your role: convert technical information into an overview

As an intern you will develop an interactive cockpit for remote monitoring of fire detection systems.

You research what engineers need, determine which information is relevant and translate this into a dashboard that is quick to understand and easy to use.

You work with

2. simulated or existing notifications
3. interfaces between systems
4. data display and visualization
5. user wishes and test results

Your project steps

1. Understand what users need

Interviewing service engineers and other stakeholders

Determine what information is important

Investigate how users work now

Describing and prioritizing functional requirements and wishes

1. Designing the dashboard

Making sketches and screen designs

Distributing information on clear screens

Developing a simple prototype

Discussing the design with users

1. Building a working prototype

Developing an interactive dashboard environment

Sharing data via a link or sample data

Applying appropriate web technology or Power BI

Recording technical choices made

1. Testing and improving

Testing with engineers

Processing their feedback

Improve the user experience

Describe how the dashboard can be further developed

You go through the entire process: from first question to working prototype.

The environment

You work from our modern location in Nieuwegein.

You will receive guidance from technology, but you will also have the opportunity to research your own choices and make proposals.
