Role Summary
WHAT TO EXPECT
Heron Power builds cutting-edge power electronics for the 21st-century grid. We aim to debottleneck the growth of electricity generation and consumption with scalable, innovative, and less costly hardware solutions, accelerating the electrification of everything.
Our first focus is to build better converters (inverters & rectifiers) to connect large-scale renewables, storage, and loads to the grid. Heron Power’s leadership team is made up of seasoned veterans who have designed and shipped gigawatts of power conversion products over the past decade.
We understand that no one individual knows everything. We will all learn a lot together and from each other. We strive to build a collaborative, enriching environment conducive to personal, technical, and career growth. You can expect to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, driven by first principles engineering, solving difficult problems.
As a Business Development Associate, you will support the BD team building Heron's partnerships with the largest energy and data center developers. You'll sit close to live commercial work and own research, pipeline, and materials that feed real customer engagements.
Responsibilities
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
- Research and profile target accounts across solar, BESS, and data center markets
- Maintain and enrich the CRM; keep pipeline data accurate and current
- Track market developments; synthesize into usable intelligence
- Prepare account briefings, meeting materials, and follow-ups
- Help translate technical content into customer-facing collateral
Requirements
- High Slope: You learn fast. You don't need a manual; you need a goal, tools, and the internet.
- Detail-Obsessed: You are the person who spots the typo in the menu. In Ops and Events, small details make the difference between success and disaster.
- Grit: You are willing to do the unglamorous work because you understand how it powers the bigger picture.
- Analytically Minded: You are comfortable in Excel and aren't afraid of pivot tables.
MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrated experience or interest in inverter-based resources, data centers, AI, manufacturing, and/or energy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset, capable of influencing engineering, operations and executive teams.
- Self-starter with a bias for action, who thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment, and is comfortable building from scratch.
- Proven problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
NICE-TO-HAVES
- Prior experience selling inverters, power electronics or new energy hardware products to first-of-a-kind deployments.
- Familiarity with utility-scale project development, procurement, and commissioning.
- Understanding of medium-voltage systems and applications in renewable energy or data centers
If you are passionate about technology and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you. Join us in accelerating the electrification of everything at Heron Power.
