Role Summary

At the Innovation Department, we carry out research projects on very broad and multi-sectoral fields of experimentation.

These innovative projects, developed in teams, are supervised by our experts within ALTEN Labs (IDF, Toulouse, Grenoble, Rennes and Sophia Antipolis), and attempt to respond to our clients' challenges by providing them with original and disruptive technological solutions.

Within our Sèvres Lab, you will be supported by an Innovation Pilot (Project Manager) to allow you to develop your skills on the activities of one of the following projects (several internships to be filled).

Project: AI for debate analysis

This project is a continuation of a platform project for analyzing political debates based on AI: speaker detection, themes, emotions, information synthesis, etc.

In order to promote the accessibility of educational, media and public content to deaf people, the objective is to add an accessibility functionality by translating the debates into French Sign Language (LSF) using a 3D avatar.

The objective is to develop an AI prototype capable of: Transcribing audio/video content into text, and translating it into LSF. The result of this part will be transferred to another team within the Lab which is responsible for animating a 3D avatar signing in real time, with facial expression and gestural fluidity.

The challenge for this part is the fluid translation into LSF from text/audio, and also the integration into our AI platform for debate analysis.

  • Project: Recognition of affordances for robotic manipulation
  • You will work on a project around the recognition of affordances for autonomous robotic manipulation. In this context, you will be required to:
  • Take stock of the state of the art of visual affordance recognition techniques (CNN, classification, semantic segmentation)
  • Develop a Computer Vision algorithm and learning model for visual affordance recognition
  • Implement this model on a 6-axis robot for object manipulation

How to join one of our Labs?

Share your CV with us so that we can discover your background and what drives you.
