Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Hydrogeologist to join our team! Responsibilities
- Perform various field and office tasks requiring the application of basic scientific principles and fundamental theories.
- Assist with the drafting of technical proposals and project documents, such as work plans, UFP-QAPPs, monitoring reports, and closure reports.
- Participating in multiple teams simultaneously working on varied projects pertaining to investigation and remediation
- Lead hydrogeology Conceptual Site Model (CSM) development, including advanced site characterization planning, identification of groundwater flow regimes and contaminant transport pathways, and evaluating groundwater-surface water interaction.
- Experience designing and executing pumping tests and other aquifer related field tests.
Requirements
What Required Skills You'll Bring
4-year degree in geological sciences, or related discipline
- 15+ years of related work experience, including experience as technical leader with oversight of a group of lower-level geoscience/hydrogeological professionals
- Consulting experience in both the office (writing work plans, reports, coordinating field projects, etc.) and field (Health & Safety responsibility, subcontractor/drilling oversight, groundwater/soil sampling, etc.).
- Professional Geologist/Geoscientist Registration, or application in process
- Strong communication and writing
- Demonstration of success in working in a team environment, being an excellent team player as well as a leader
- Willingness to travel to project sites to kick off field events, typically 2-3 days every quarter.
- What Desired Skills You'll Bring
Master’s Degree in hydrogeology
- Experience in advanced hydrogeology; LNAPL migration and modeling, sediment transport, groundwater flow modeling, in-situ remedial design, and/or fractured rock contaminant transport.
- Experience in utilizing environmental sequencing stratigraphy data in development of groundwater models.
- Ability to perform hydrogeology leadership role supporting PFAS, mining, and/or conventional contaminant projects
