Role Summary

Monitor and maintain workflow and plan daily/weekly staff activities

Provide updates weekly, monthly or as needed by the team to the department head. This includes security reports, revenue reports, resource allocation summaries, improvements and new business opportunities, general concerns, and any other activity.

With the help of the department head, manage staff performance, personnel issues, concerns, etc.

Manage resource allocation and project prioritization, and work across groups and functions to effectively manage resources.

Provide, lead and execute solutions to problems.

Provide expert technical support to analysts, internal groups and other SGS groups.

Writes, reviews and approves protocols, writes methods and technical reports. Participates in and leads OOS, OOT and deviation investigations. Participates in and executes CAPA.

Evaluate client requests, scope of work plans and provide client proposals for their work.

Write and revise technical data, documents, standard operating procedures and proposals as required.

Executes experiments following standard operating procedures, deviation and change control programs, and company cGMP guidelines.

Keep all laboratory records and notebooks in good order. Analyze test data, enter results into the company's electronic system to obtain a certificate of analysis, and prepare reports, if necessary, in a timely manner.

Coordinate method transfers between customers and SGS.

In the event of a test failure, immediately report the department head or designee before proceeding with the test, direct/assist in failure investigations to identify the cause of the failure and prepare a deviation report and/or corrective preventive action (CAPA) if appropriate.

Maintain analyst and scientist work schedules and project plans in accordance with deadlines and milestones.

Ensure that work order documentation is complete in all respects and that all results are entered into the Electronic Laboratory Information System or client Certificate of Analysis prior to submission to the QA reviewer.

Requirements

BSc or MSc/PhD with experience in bioseparations

  • Experience with the following instruments: HPLC, UPLC, Mass Spectrom, Electrophoresis
  • Elisa, qPCR, ddPCR, enzyme activity assays, SPR, BLI Sanger sequencing an active.
  • 5+ years with demonstrated ability to perform more complex roles/tasks
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a dynamic and highly professional environment.
  • The ability to stand out, to think differently.
  • Demonstrated understanding of cGMP/GLP
  • Ability to coordinate and manage a group and its workload.

Ability to critically interpret and analyze data

  • Able to read, understand, communicate and follow work instructions safely, accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Able to interact with all levels of management, suppliers and customers.
  • Ability to work well with others and independently.
  • Proven time management skills and strong attention to detail.
  • It works well under pressure.
  • Extended hours and shift work may be required from time to time
