Freelance Software Engineer (m/f/d) – App development with Hydrogen & Shopify

Role Summary

your mission

As a freelance software engineer (m/f/d), you will support our app team in the further development of the PURELEI Club app - a hybrid system consisting of Flutter Shell and an embedded Hydrogen web app, both connected to Shopify as a common commerce backend.

You take on clearly defined features and implement them completely independently - from the technical conception through implementation to release. Our focus is clearly on the app; If you also have experience in the Shopify storefront environment and can also support our web shop if necessary, that's a real plus.

LLMs and AI tools are an integral part of our development work. You use them productively, evaluate their results professionally and retain responsibility for architecture, security and code quality.

• 3-5 days/week, initially for 6 months with an option to extend

your tasks

You will further develop our Club App and connect it to the Shopify Storefront/Admin APIs.

You implement individual features independently - from conception to release.

You develop web applications with TypeScript, React and server-side rendering (Hydrogen / Next.js).

You decide – in sparring with our team – which technical approach suits a requirement.

You deliver maintainable, documented solutions that fit our existing code base and ensure quality through testing and systematic error analysis.

Optional: You provide selective support in the further development of our Shopify web shop (themes, functions, extensions).

your profile

Several years of experience in professional web or full-stack development

You have already worked with Shopify and understand the possibilities, limitations and typical solutions of the platform.

You work confidently with TypeScript and React and have experience with server-side rendered React applications (Hydrogen, Next.js or comparable).

For you, maintainable architecture, tests and clean code quality are part of professional software development.

You use LLMs and AI tools productively, critically examine their results and can also develop and evaluate solutions yourself.

You work independently, pragmatically and structured - without micromanagement - and communicate technical decisions understandably.

You speak German and/or English well.

A plus, but not a requirement

Experience with Flutter and hybrid app architectures (embedded web apps in Native)

Shopify Theme Development (Liquid), Shopify Functions & Extensions – so that you can also further develop our web shop if necessary

You don't have to master every area of our stack. What is important to us is a good understanding of Shopify and Hydrogen/React, strong full-stack fundamentals and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new technologies.
