Governance and Budget

Configure and manage Budgets with alerts and automated actions

Define and monitor cost KPIs (cost per transaction, cost per customer, unit economics).

Support in the development of governance policies via AWS Organizations and SCPs

FinOps Culture

Promote the practice of showback/chargeback between teams

Prepare material for recurring cost review meetings with technical and business stakeholders.

Evangelize the phases of the FinOps framework: Inform → Optimize → Operate

Responsibilities

Visibility and Cost Allocation

• Implement and maintain the tagging and cost allocation strategy (AWS Cost Allocation Tags)
• Create and manage dashboards in AWS Cost Explorer, CUR (Cost and Usage Report), and BI tools
• Produce periodic cost reports by business unit, team and product

Optimization and Efficiency

• Identify rightsizing opportunities, use of Savings Plans, Reserved Instances and Spot Instances
• Analyze and recommend actions based on AWS Trusted Advisor and AWS Compute Optimizer
• Monitor and mitigate idle or underutilized resources (unattached EBS, elastic IPs, stale snapshots)

Requirements

Forecasting and Planning

• Prepare spending forecasts (forecasting) and support the budget planning cycle.
• Analyze consumption trends and cost anomalies (AWS Cost Anomaly Detection).
• 2 to 4 years of experience with cloud cost management (AWS, Azure, GCP or OCI).
• Solid knowledge of AWS billing services: Cost Explorer, CUR, Budgets, Cost Anomaly Detection
• Familiarity with the FinOps Foundation framework (phases, personas, principles)
• Experience with data visualization tools (QuickSight, Grafana, Tableau or similar).
• Analytical ability to work with large volumes of billing data (SQL, Python or similar).
• Good communication to translate technical data into business insights
