Role Summary

What it's about

The position can be filled full-time and part-time (from 25 hours per week).

You bring order to Thorit's accounting - and build the structures with which it grows.

We have grown significantly in recent years, but the financial processes have not kept up at the same pace. There is no documented monthly closing, the open items are not consistently maintained, and a lot depends on individual people. That's exactly your job: not managing an existing system, but building one.

You don't work alone. The ongoing accounting is carried out by our tax office, and you will be supported internally by the assistant for the preparatory accounting. You are the person who controls the whole thing, ensures quality and brings it into order.

So you know what you're getting into

  • WeClapp is our leading system - this is where outgoing invoices, incoming invoices and OPOS come together
  • DATEV (law firm accounting, payment transactions) for accounting in collaboration with our tax office
  • Qonto for account connection and document matching with DATEV interface
  • TravelPerk for travel bookings
  • Confluence for process documentation, Forecast.it for time tracking, HubSpot as CRM
  • Claude AI is our standard tool - not to replace accounting, but to relieve you of research, documentation and recurring hard work
  • What we promise you
  • All access from day 1: Banking authorizations, system and reading rights that you need for your work - without you having to chase after them
  • Fixed contact persons: our COO for day-to-day business, our tax advisor for technical questions, our CFO advisor for setting up the processes
  • Short lines: You report directly to our CEO and are part of the internal team that keeps Thorit running
  • Framework conditions
  • Location: Böblingen, hybrid – 2-3 days per week in the office
  • Scope: Full-time or part-time from 25 hours/week
  • Start: from now on

Responsibilities

You are responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger accounting, including bank reconciliation - in control together with our law firm and the internal preparatory accounting department

  • You build a documented, repeatable month-end closing process that doesn't exist today
  • You clear out the old inventory in debtors and creditors and keep the OPOS lists (open items) up to date
  • You ensure that the VAT returns are sent out correctly and on time
  • You accompany the annual financial statements in direct collaboration with our tax advisor
  • You ensure that travel expenses are billed correctly
  • You document the finance processes in Confluence so that they don't depend on individual heads
  • This is what you bring with you
  • Necessary
  • Several years of practical experience in German financial accounting
  • Safe handling of DATEV
  • Sound basic knowledge of German commercial and tax law as far as accounting is concerned
  • Desire to work independently and build structure without close leadership in day-to-day business
  • Fluent German (C1/C2) and solid business English

Requirements

Nice to have

Experience in payroll accounting as well as with DEÜV/ELStAM/DATEV Lohn + Salary – the accounting is currently carried out externally, but would be an issue in the future

  • Experience in accompanying annual financial statements with an external law firm
  • Experience in a growing company or consultancy
  • Our setup

Benefits

Pension provision & subsidies: Company pension plan via Allianz with a staggered employer contribution of €50 to €290 per month, plus a Lunchit meal allowance of up to €100 per month

  • Flexibility: Up to 4 weeks per year working from anywhere in the EU including a €500 allowance, Spaces coworking membership, flexible working hours
  • Health & Mobility: Business Bike Leasing, Urban Sports Club with access to over 8,000 locations
  • Continuing education: Full access to the Blinkist business library (4,500+ titles), 3 months of Babbel, fully funded HubSpot certifications
  • Culture: Flat hierarchies with a direct line to management, modern toolstack, corporate benefits for over 800 brands
  • About Thorit

Thorit is the AI and CRM consultancy for the agentic company. As a Diamond HubSpot partner, we work with B2B customers in the DACH market: We build the agent level on HubSpot and the surrounding systems - and operate them together with our customers. We also apply what we recommend there internally: less manual work, more structure. This role is a central part of it.

NONE OF THE OPEN POSITIONS FITS YOUR SKILLSET OR PASSION?

We're hiring across various roles, and this is where you come in anyway. Not every great fit shows up exactly when we happen to have an open position, if you think you'd be a good match for Thorit but none of our current postings quite fit your profile, we still want to hear from you.

We're the AI and CRM consultancy for the agent native enterprise. As a Diamond HubSpot Partner, we work with B2B clients across the DACH market, building the agent layer on top of HubSpot and the systems around it, then operating it together with our clients. Agentic means software that works toward goals instead of waiting for clicks, that's the shift we help our clients make, and it's also how we try to run things internally, in sales, delivery, and People & Culture.

Additional Information

Send us your application – CV is sufficient, a cover letter is optional.

If you like, write us a few sentences about how you've ever sorted out messy accounting.

We are more interested in this than any wording in the cover letter - we would otherwise ask about it in conversation.
