Expression of Interest for 6 month Fixed Term Microbiology Technician roles

Role Summary

We are currently seeking a Technician to join our Microbiology Media team based at our Lynfield Auckland laboratory for 6 months on a fixed term contract for our busy Dairy Season. This role is to assist in sample preparation and pre-work as well as media preparation. You will gain invaluable experience for your technical career in a commercial Food Testing laboratory. We will need you to be available for 40 hours per week, working both weekend days.

This is an important role making media for our busy microbiology labs. You will need to be physically fit and able to stand for most of your shift.

Responsibilities

Your key duties will involve

• Preparation of Microbiological Media and Reagents
• Strictly adhere to all laboratory and regulatory quality assurance procedures
• Ensuring all relevant records are always kept up to date
• Maintaining a clean and tidy work area

Flexibility to work additional days or overtime would be ideal as our laboratory operates 7 days a week.

Requirements

About you

• Be studying or have attained a BSc, with a focus on Microbiology or Food Science.
• Previous work experience in a fast paced environment will also be beneficial to your success in getting this role. ( Hospitality or Retail)
• Team player that can remain focused while doing repetitive tasks and cope with regularly changing priorities.
• Excellent attention to detail coupled with fantastic time management skills will see you do well in the AsureQuality environment.

• BSc Food Science or Microbiology or experience in a busy retail or hospitality role.
