Role Summary

Join our Water Department - Resources & Treatment Center as a hydrogeologist engineer.

You will conduct and manage hydrogeological studies and technical studies related to the quantitative and qualitative management of groundwater and other water resources. In this capacity, you will work in particular on the following missions:

Modeling and/or monitoring of migration and diffusion studies of pollutant flows within groundwater, including analysis of impacts, assessment of health and environmental risks, as well as the development of appropriate technical and operational recommendations.

Modeling and/or monitoring of groundwater drawdown or recharge studies, aimed at defining the volumes of water that can be mobilized, the associated hydrodynamic impacts and the conditions for sustainable exploitation of the resource.

Carrying out audits of wells and catchment structures, including operational diagnosis, identification of malfunctions, rehabilitation recommendations, definition of technical solutions (curative and preventive) as well as costing of works and installations.

Water resource projection studies within the framework of master plans (AEP, irrigation, industry, communities), integrating climatic and regulatory developments and future needs, in France or internationally.

Carrying out soil studies, hydrogeological studies and underground hydraulic studies, from the diagnosis phase to the restitution of results and recommendations.

Drilling management and operation studies, including the integration of control, supervision and SCADA systems, performance optimization and monitoring of operating data.

Studies to delineate catchment areas, carried out within the framework of the new DERU 2024 or equivalent international regulatory frameworks, including regulatory analysis, technical justification and production of required deliverables

Requirements

  • You hold an engineering degree with solid training in hydrogeology
  • You must have 10 to 15 years of experience in the field

Technical skills

  • Solid knowledge in hydrogeology, underground hydraulics and the functioning of aquifers, and more generally on water resources subjects.
  • Skills in groundwater quality, pollutant transport and risk assessment (especially PFAS), design of complex remediation and rehabilitation strategies (Pump & Treat, ISCO, MNA).
  • Experience in drawdown studies, groundwater recharge and catchment management.
  • Ability to carry out technical audits of drilling (including pumps and well casing) and to propose rehabilitation solutions. Ability to lead the development of 3D Conceptual Site Models (CSM) and monitoring networks.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks related to water (Environmental Code, DERU, AEP catchments).
  • Mastery of hydrogeological modeling tools (MODFLOW type or equivalent) and hydraulic data analysis.

GIS skills (QGIS/ArcGIS) for spatial analysis and mapping

Knowledge or experience in SCADA, supervision and management of operating data.

  • Scientific rigor: spirit of analysis and synthesis, ability to deal with complex issues
  • Autonomy in the conduct of studies and management of priorities
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and interact with various stakeholders (customers, communities, administrations, design offices), sense of customer relations
  • Writing skills and ability to clearly present technical results and formulate operational recommendations in French and English (Spanish preferred)
  • Adaptability to regulatory and technical developments
