Role Summary

At SGS we are looking for our new Chemist B for our laboratory located in Calama.

The main objective of the position is to execute the various laboratory analysis services, related to the composition, properties and reactions of the chemical and physical elements that make up the samples.

Formal Studies

University Training in Chemistry, Laboratory Analyst, Chemical Analyst, Related Careers.

Responsibilities

Among the main functions are

• Ensuring the correct execution of the analysis method or determinations under your responsibility involves carrying out verification calculations, in addition to safeguarding the results and inputs under your responsibility and the data to be recorded within the established times.
• Arrange, secure or prepare the supplies, equipment and/or accessories necessary for the execution of laboratory analyses, handling chemical reagents and controlling their quality before use.
• Notify non-conformities and/or act to remove contingencies that affect one's own activities or the work group to which one belongs.
• Execute and/or provide technical support to the work group in the verification or preparation of laboratory equipment, involves corroborating standards, assembly and disassembly.
• Execute tests with quality,

Requirements

• Similar area or field: 3 years in service laboratories.
• Similar position: 2 years in mineral laboratory.
• Minimum necessary skills
• Management in good laboratory practices.
• Knowledge of Quality Standards.
• Management of Mineral Analysis Techniques or Methodologies
• Experience in Atomic Absorption (desirable)
