Role Summary

Support technical coordination, in addition to guiding junior and full-time technicians, assistants and interns. Perform the analytical techniques described in the company's procedures, with critical analysis of results, meeting deadlines, maintaining the organization and ensuring the safety and integrity of everyone.

  • Carry out and supervise the different analytical steps, including weighing and homogenization;
  • Participate in validations, regarding the analytical steps;
  • Communicate with the registration area (Login) regarding samples being processed;
  • Define, with the help of the Coordinator and/or commercial area, the priority for carrying out the analyses;
  • Carry out training for new professionals;
  • Carry out the checking and validation of analytical results / critical analyses;
  • Carry out a double check of the results already released in the system and release them with the appropriate signature of the report;
  • Include evaluated results, repetitions and additional analyzes in the system (according to the respective line of business), as well as record pertinent information;
  • Coordinate proficiency tests regarding deadline and execution;
  • Coordinate the solution of routine laboratory problems, involving Coordination when necessary;
  • Carry out / request / monitor corrective and preventive maintenance of equipment;
  • Provide support in stock control of laboratory materials;
  • Assist in sending materials for calibration;
  • Organize the work routine with the printing of work maps and the creation of the routine mirror to be carried out
  • Organize the laboratory for the preparation of materials (solutions, buffers, culture media, standard solutions), checking temperatures, validity of solutions and reagents in use;
  • Maintain all records in the routine mirror (physical or digital document) of the items used, as well as their corresponding batches and validity periods, in accordance with the structure established by the area Coordination;
  • Constantly guide the team to clean and organize areas with a focus on safety in the laboratory;
  • Keep freezers, refrigerators, cabinets, drawers, shelves and countertops organized, keeping each input stored at the temperature recommended by the manufacturer (ambient, refrigerated or frozen);
  • Inspect inputs monthly regarding their expiration date; inform the Sector Coordinator in advance about the expiration date and carry out disposal when necessary;
  • Clean and disinfect the work area (bench) before and after the routine, following the specific procedure;
  • Ensure that all forms are filled out correctly;
  • Supervise and obtain analysis planning in the system (according to the respective line of business);
  • Make purchase requests for laboratory materials in the system;
  • Monitor the archiving of routine documents, ensuring that they are in accordance with Quality training;
  • Use all necessary PPE to carry out tasks safely and in accordance with laboratory safety standards;
  • Review and update procedures in the Quality Management System;
  • Monitor laboratory visits and audits;
  • Be technically responsible for accreditation and accreditation bodies.
  • Assume leadership of the area during periods of absence of the Coordinator.
  • Liaison with the customer, providing technical support when necessary
  • Perform other related activities, as necessary, or at the discretion of your superior.

Clinical Analysis Laboratory

  • Carry out the different exams assigned to the Sector with a focus on highly complex exams (example: NGS), in accordance with the technical procedures in which the employee has been trained;
  • Support low-complexity tests (example: qPCR and Sanger) when necessary;

Assist in the creation of new exam masks

  • Prepare classes, lectures and training to be presented periodically in the company's Continuing Education Program
  • Participate in workshops, conferences, etc., and disseminate the acquired knowledge to the team;
  • Carry out validations of inputs, equipment and new protocols according to guidelines from the Sector Coordination;
  • Perform other related activities, as necessary, or at the discretion of your superior.

Requirements

  • Behavioral skills: See Eurofins Leadership Charter.
  • Required education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Biology or related courses.
  • Additional training: Specialization in the area is an advantage.
  • Languages and expected level: Advanced/fluent English + basic Spanish.
  • Previous experience (type and duration): 5 to 9 years of experience.
  • Technical knowledge: Advanced knowledge in your area of expertise with mastery of your activities.

Necessary Requirements

  • Knowledge of Gas Chromatography (GC) and Liquid Chromatography (CL/HPLC);
  • Experience in the operation, analysis and interpretation of results obtained by chromatographic techniques will be considered an advantage.
