Role Summary

As a Continuous Improvement Engineer intern, you are based within the Eurofins Analyzes for Building Laboratory in Hénin-Beaumont and will report to the Continuous Improvement Project Engineer stationed within the laboratory.

You will be required to manage various projects to participate in the development of the activity (cost optimization, support for maintenance systems and continuous improvement). For this, you have a very operational and field approach but also a strategic vision to be a source of proposals for operational teams.

Responsibilities

You will therefore be required to

  • Manage and implement laboratory improvement and development projects, including infrastructure issues, the organization of technical spaces and discussions with suppliers
  • Provide methodological support to teams by mobilizing Lean tools (problem solving, running work groups, performance management, etc.)
  • Contribute to the development, structuring and monitoring of laboratory maintenance systems, in support of the Project Engineer (reliability of equipment, monitoring of interventions, improvement of maintenance plans, standardization of practices, etc.)
  • Analyze the operation of equipment and workstations, and propose adjustments related to ergonomics, safety and machine availability
  • Deploy Lean tools and projects adapted to the needs of the laboratory (5S, visual management, flow optimization, etc.)
  • Analyze production processes in order to identify areas for progress, particularly in terms of operational performance, cost control and equipment availability
  • Identify and consolidate opportunities for improving technical systems, including the digitalization of maintenance monitoring, the simplification of routines and the improvement of the traceability of interventions
  • Following this successful mission, we will consider together your evolution in our network, the perspectives being varied with possible gateways to numerous professions.

Requirements

  • You are currently studying at a General Engineering school, ideally with a specialty in industrial engineering/process engineering and you are looking for an internship for a period of 4 to 6 months.
  • You are familiar with continuous improvement, problem solving and Lean management methodologies (5S, VSM, Kaizen, etc.).
  • Your team spirit, your pragmatism, your sense of commitment and your curiosity allow you to instill constant dynamism in the pursuit of your projects.
  • You are proactive and like to look for solutions on your own.
  • Versatile and “jack of all trades”, you like to move from one subject to another.
  • Ideally, you have an appetite for technical subjects (first-level maintenance, manual work, DIY, etc.).
