Job Overview
Job description
- Location:
- Östersund, Sweden
- Work arrangement:
- On-site
Role Summary
As part of our continued investment in the Water Market Area, we are now looking for an experienced Rainwater Investigator for one of our offices in Norrland.
In the stormwater area, we work with stormwater plans and strategies, modeling of downpours and flooding problems, as well as investigations linked to flows, pollution load and action planning. We work in all project stages - from early strategic stages and overview analyzes to planning, production of inquiry documents, sampling and follow-up.
In this role, you will have a central function in our assignments with responsibility for leading and running stormwater investigations, often with a focus on complex and strategic issues linked to climate adaptation, torrential rain and sustainable stormwater management. You are expected to take on the role of task leader in projects, where you are responsible for planning, implementation, finance and customer dialogue.
The position involves work in VA-related assignments with a main focus on stormwater, both locally and regionally, as well as in close collaboration with colleagues nationally within AFRY. The assignments vary in size and complexity and are staffed cross-disciplinary, often with colleagues from different offices.
Work takes place in projects all over the country. Travel occurs, but your main workplace is the office where most of the work is done. The role also entails responsibility for producing and quality-assured reports, memos and decision documents, which places high demands on your ability to communicate clearly in speech and writing.
You will start from one of our offices in Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Jämtland, Västernorrland, Dalarna or Gävleborg. Enter the desired place of placement in your application.
Requirements
We are looking for someone who has several years of experience working with stormwater investigations and who is confident in handling both technical and strategic issues. You have experience of working with rainfall investigations, stormwater strategies and climate adaptation, and have previously had a leading role in assignments, for example as assignment manager or sub-project manager.
- You have a relevant college or university education, or equivalent experience.
- You are familiar with commonly used tools in the field, for example AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, QGIS, Scalgo and StormTac. Experience with modeling tools such as MIKE+, TUFLOW and HEC-RAS is advantageous.
As a person, you are business-like, structured and self-motivated with a strong commitment to stormwater issues. You thrive in a role where you get to take responsibility, drive issues forward and create value for the customer. You also have good cooperation skills and appreciate working in teams and contributing to the exchange of knowledge and development of the business.
- As the role involves many internal and external contact areas, it is important that you are communicative and have a good ability to build relationships. You are fluent in Swedish and English in speech and writing.
- At AFRY, we attach great importance to your personal qualities and work based on our values: Brave – Devoted – Team players.
