Role Summary
This is a hands-on leadership role within a project-based engineering environment, requiring both technical depth and people leadership capability. The role supports project managers, discipline leads, and senior leadership by providing accurate, timely, and transparent project performance information to enable effective decision-making and reporting.
Responsabilities
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, coordinate, and develop a multidisciplinary Project Controls team (planning, scheduling, cost control, earned value validation, procurement support, document control, and administrative support)
Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management to build a high-performing, engaged project controls organization
Review, coordinate, and improve: existing roles, responsibilities, and interfaces between project controls, project management, engineering, procurement, and construction management teams
Planning and Scheduling
Establish and maintain integrated project schedules covering engineering, procurement, and construction phases, (during study / FEL stage gate project phases, detailed engineering, and where applicable commissioning and construction management support phases)
- Ensure schedules are logic-driven, resource-loaded where appropriate, and aligned with contractual and commercial requirements
- Support schedule risk analysis, critical path analysis, scenario planning, and recovery strategies
- Internal Project Control & Forecasting
- Interface with engineering team on estimated engineering project budgets, including engineering hours, procurement
- Monitor percent complete, earned value, expended hours, forecast-to-complete, project performance variance, and cost performance indicators
- Ensure consistent, accurate, and timely reporting of project performance internally to project teams and company senior management
Active collaboration with Project managers during monthly progress reporting, including coordination and validation with engineering disciplines on engineering effort progress and deliverables issued according to plan
- Support change management including identification, evaluation, and tracking of scope changes
- Progress Measurement & Reporting to Client
- Develop and maintain project progress measurement systems, including engineering progress curves (S-curves) and manpower curves
Ensure consistent, accurate, and timely reporting of project KPIs withing client project monthly reports (monthly issue to client project management and steering team)
- Provide analysis and insight into variances, trends, and emerging risks
- Generate and present procurement status report
- Project cost control and cash flow
- Procurement & Construction Support
Support preparation of procurement and construction bid packages including scope definitions, construction work breakdown structure (WBS), pricing structures, and comparison of tender templates
- Coordinate and support bid evaluations and tender comparisons where required
- Coordinate and track vendor documentation including expediting of engineering deliverables
- Project Governance & Systems
- Ensure effective project setup at initiation including alignment with ERP and project management systems
- Define, maintain, and improve project controls standards, tools, and procedures
- Ensure document control processes comply with internal and client requirements
- Stakeholder Interface
- Represent the Project Controls function in project-specific meetings and internal management forums
- Act as a trusted advisor to Project Managers and senior leaders on schedule, cost, risk, and performance matters
- Collaborate closely with procurement, engineering, construction management, and finance functions

Requirements
- Nous recherchons un(e) professionnel(le) du contrôle de projets possédant de solides compétences en leadership et un parcours démontré dans des environnements complexes axés sur les projets.
- 8 to 12 years or more of experience in project control, planning and scheduling, cost control and/or project management in engineering, EPC, EPCM or industrial project environments
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing project control teams
- Strong understanding of engineering-driven projects, procurement processes and construction execution
- Good business and financial understanding, with the ability to synthesize project data into clear, actionable recommendations for project teams
- Experience with project management systems and ERP systems (knowledge of ERP considered a strong asset)
- Advanced mastery of Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Languages: Fluency in French and English, oral and written, is essential.

- We are seeking a project controls professional with strong leadership capability and a proven track record in complex, project-based environments.
- 8-12+ years of experience in project controls, planning & scheduling, cost control, and/or project management within engineering, EPC, EPCM, or industrial project environments
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing project controls teams
- Strong understanding of engineering-driven projects, procurement processes, and construction execution
- Good commercial and financial understanding with the ability to summarize project data into clear, actionable recommendations for project teams
- Experience with project management and ERP systems (ERP knowledge considered a strong asset)
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Languages: Fluency in both French and English (spoken and written) is essential.
