Role Summary

AFRY works with projects that contribute to the development and modernization of Norwegian industry. To strengthen our professional environment in Kristiansand, we are now looking for two electrical engineers.

We are looking for you who have a good electrical understanding and want a varied working day. You should be familiar with the principles for designing good electrotechnical solutions and you should enjoy finding practical and workable solutions, whether it is about switchboard systems, power distribution or follow-up at the customer's premises.

With us, you get to work with the entire process, from planning and technical clarifications to follow-up of deliveries, testing and commissioning.

Our projects range from minor improvements and expansions in existing facilities to new production lines and major investment projects in areas such as smelters, chemical industry, pulp & paper, biorefinery and hydrogen.

With a broad customer base within Norwegian industry, you get the opportunity to work closely with both customers, production environments and technical solutions throughout the entire project, from early clarifications and technical assessments to testing, commissioning and follow-up.

Your closest colleagues in Kristiansand consist of 36 driven engineers, including 2 board assemblers. Here, construction, programming and production work closely together to deliver complete solutions to our customers.

  • The tasks will vary depending on projects and experience, but may include, among other things:
  • Design and specification of power and distribution boards, preferably with knowledge of Eplan and Febdok
  • Preparation of technical documentation, drawings and one-line diagrams
  • Follow-up of board construction and testing in the workshop
  • Technical support for customers, suppliers and project teams
  • Participation in preliminary projects, modifications and upgrades of existing facilities
  • Follow-up during installation, testing and commissioning at the customer
  • Contribute to the electrical discipline in both smaller and larger industrial projects

Requirements

  • We are looking for you who like to take responsibility and make things happen. You work independently when needed, but also value collaboration with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
  • You have a practical approach to technical issues and enjoy finding solutions that work in practice. Whether you work with boards, documentation, follow-up with customers or technical clarifications, you are able to see both the details and the whole of the project.

We would like to see that you have

  • Education in electricity/electricity at vocational school, bachelor's or master's level
  • Minimum 3 years' experience from industry, energy plants or electrotechnical projects
  • Experience with switchboards, power distribution or industrial installations is an advantage

You will be part of a professional environment with around 70 engineers in the fields of electricity, automation and digitalisation, spread over the offices in Kristiansand, Sarpsborg, Oslo, Sandefjord and Porsgrunn.

  • With us you get
  • A varied position with the main emphasis on board construction combined with installation and service
  • A modern blackboard workshop with exciting projects
  • A strong professional environment where board assemblers, electrical engineers and software engineers work closely together
  • Good opportunities for professional development and specialization
  • Challenging tasks within industrial, commercial and automation projects

We know the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between work and leisure, and recognize that each person's life situation is unique and therefore offer a flexible work environment that emphasizes freedom under responsibility.

You will have the opportunity to play an important role and be a central employee in an environment that is experiencing strong and healthy growth. Highly motivated and skilled people work here who share their experience and knowledge. We are proud of our culture and our community - here you will experience a warm, informal and inclusive working environment with colleagues you can be yourself with.

  • In addition to five weeks' holiday, we have paid time off between Christmas and New Year, as well as Easter week.
  • We provide you with security and stability with good schemes for defined contribution pensions, accident insurance and group life and treatment insurance.
  • At AFRY, we combine local presence with international expertise. Together, we create solutions that drive the transition towards a more sustainable society.

We need this from you before employment

Before employment at AFRY, you must be able to provide valid documentation of completed higher education, whether it concerns a certificate, bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree. If all or part of your education has been completed abroad, you may be asked to show approval from HK-dir. (Directorate for Higher Education and Skills).

  • Please note that the working language in AFRY is Norwegian. Since our projects require a good understanding of Norwegian regulations and procedures, you must have command of the language both orally and in writing at C1 level, unless otherwise specified in the job advertisement.
