Role Summary

As a mechanical designer at AFRY in Jönköping, you have the opportunity to work on exciting and varied projects within mechanical development and product design. We collaborate with a broad mix of customers – from innovative startups to well-established companies in areas such as automotive, medical technology, energy and consumer products.

Your tasks can include everything from designing and developing mechanical products and systems to doing technical analyzes and simulations to ensure that the solutions are both sustainable and functional. You can also participate in the selection of materials and production methods in close dialogue with both customers and manufacturers. The work takes place in a dynamic environment where you use tools such as Catia, SolidWorks or NX to create and develop technical solutions.

As a consultant at AFRY, your projects are adapted based on both our customers' needs and your own competence and ambition. We strive to create assignments where you can develop and contribute with your strengths. This may mean that you work in in-house projects via our organization Customized Solutions or on site at our customers.

Responsibilities

As a mechanical designer, you will

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems
• Work with modelling, simulation and construction in various CAD tools
• Collaborate with customers, colleagues and other technical areas to create innovative solutions
• Contribute your experience and knowledge while developing together with the team

Together with your colleagues, you help our customers develop competitive and sustainable products.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who has a technical background and experience in mechanical construction. You have a relevant college or civil engineering degree in mechanics, mechanical engineering or product development and at least 2 years of experience working with product development and construction. Experience with CAD tools such as Catia, SolidWorks or NX is also important, as is an understanding of production methods, material selection and manufacturing processes.

To thrive in the role, we see that you are comfortable working in different environments and that you enjoy collaborating with people from different backgrounds and professional fields. As a consultant, you need to have an open and communicative attitude, and you enjoy working in a team while being able to take personal responsibility for your tasks.

Since we work with customers both in Sweden and internationally, it is important that you are fluent in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
