Role Summary

Do you want to work as a consultant with AI solutions that are actually used in socially critical operations and take responsibility for the entire path from model to stable production? At AFRY Digital Services, we are now looking for a Data Engineer with AI delivery skills for a customer assignment in advanced analysis and image-based AI

We are looking for you who have

• Several years of experience as a Data Engineer in a production environment
• Very good knowledge of Python (structured code, tests, code standard)
• Experience with Linux environments (server/cluster)
• Good knowledge of SQL and databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MongoDB, SQL Server)
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines for large data sets
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and running in Kubernetes
• Experience working with distributed computing (eg Spark or Flink)
• Basic understanding of AI/ML flows, especially related to image data
• Meritorious
• Experience with computer vision and image-based AI solutions
• MLOps (e.g. MLflow, experiment and model management)
• CI/CD for data and ML pipelines
• Performance optimization of AI‑ and data pipelines

You need to be able to communicate professionally in Swedish and English, as the assignment takes place in a Swedish business context.

Requirements

In this role, you work in an AI-related team with a focus on building and operating data pipelines and putting AI models into production, mainly in image analysis and computer vision. You act as the bridge between data science and production with responsibility for ensuring that the solutions are robust, scalable and long-term manageable. The work takes place in server and cluster environments where large amounts of data are handled, often in batches, with high demands on quality, performance and stable operation. Examples of tasks

• Design, develop and operate data pipelines for large data sets
• Responsible for data collection, validation, transformation and storage
• Ensure data quality and traceability throughout the flow
• Implement and put into production AI models for image analysis
• Work with pre-processing and post-processing of image data
• Manage batch runs and dependencies in AI pipelines
• Develop solutions in Linux-based server and cluster environments
• Ensure that solutions are scalable, robust and reliable
• Work with containerization and distributed execution
